What is the Chewelah Scholarship Foundation?

For over 20 years, the Chewelah Scholarship Foundation has awarded college scholarships to Jenkins High School graduates through a process that links them with the work of community donors and volunteers. Scholarships are funded by community memorials, private citizens, and fundraising. In 2011, CSF awarded 23 scholarships, ranging from $500-1500.

As costs for higher education increase, the CSF Board works to provide opportunities to Chewelah graduates. Available scholarships include: education, general, vocational, medical, dental, etc; and are granted for trade schools, vocational programs, two- and four-year colleges. The CSF Board would like to thank community-minded citizens who support this investment in the future of our students

This tax-exempt, non-profit organization is managed locally by an alll-volunteer board of directors.  Currently, there are at least 15 scholarships available for graduating Chewelah seniors.  With college costs rising dramatically, promising Chewelah students definitely should apply for scholarships, so they might be better able to access higher education.
